A number of organisations representing societies’ interests are being engaged as part of the GRD project. These include:

Benefits

The anticipated benefits to this stakeholder group are:
  • Streamlined copyright registration requiring less time and effort 
  • Fewer counter-claims and less duplicated effort to resolve these
  • Easier to invoice more accurately for shares of works, freeing the flow of royalties
  • Easier to administer and manage licenses, including improved data for small societies
  • Potential to reallocate time and investment to front line licensing activities
  • Greater transparency for society controlled works claims
